Scratch Game Design

CHASE GAME
Use the arrow keys or W, A, S, D keys to move. Try to survive for as long as possible and get as much points as you can by running away from the lion. Don't get caught or else it's GAME OVER.

The user experience was a big part of my chase game but not as much in my platformer. In my chase game I made sure that my that it was challenging and had the player alert at all times. I did not however so this on my platformer since I spent half my time making an advanced gravity engine which at the end wasn't worth it. I didn't have enough time to make the second level which was required

Try get to the starfish before the timer runs out!!!

  1. I like the sprites you used!
Maybe add a "you win" or something like that at the end so you know when you win and when you lose.
I love how your backgrounds switch, instead of just sitting there with the same background.

  2. I love the speed and thrill I get when I play your game. Although it feels like I need some sort of breather when playing, or some sort of end goal. Nevertheless, this was very fun to play, especially with how you switched the backgrounds every few seconds.

  3. Great job with the sprites movement scripts, they both move very smoothly.
I'm not quite sure how the game is won, it is not mentioned in the instructions. Is there a certain time you need to avoid being caught in order to win?
Your game is very challenging, as the lion moves nearly as fast as the horse, which makes it a little more fun to play as opposed to the overly simple ones.

  4. Wow great job the speed is awesome! It would be nicer if you made it a little longer. Overall good job on animations and making it bug-free!

  5. Good choice of the sprites
the lion could slow down a little more instead of speeding to the character
    nice job getting it debugged

  6. I love how the background changes every 5 sec. Although, According to the instructions, the game was supposed to be endless, but it's not. Despite that, I really liked the game's consept.

  7. I really like how the sprites move across the stage.
However, you could slow both of the sprites down.
I really like how you made both of the sprites flip instead of rotate.

  8. It was difficult, and that made it fun.
I like the underwater theme a lot!
    Good job.

  9. I think that your sprite selection was on point with the sea theme. I think that you could however, make your background the ocean background instead of the "You win" screen. That is a minor bug with the smoothness of your movement.

  10. I like the theme of your game! I couldn't jump up on the second platform, I don't know why. Great Job!

  12. I really like your chase game! The only thing that troubles me was how long it took to gain a point. It seemed like I had to try a little too hard for just that one point. I really liked the pace of it though. It wasn't too slow to point where it's boring, but it's not too fast to the point where it's impossible. Keep it up!
